Abstract :Author has described the typical process technology and layout scheme in plant of the large / middle-sized synthetic ammonia made by feed-
stock of coal ;has discussed the problems to be possibly encountered in the design progress of the synthetic ammonia plant and its related matters to be no-
ticed ;in combination with example of the Vietnam North Nitrogen Project ，has summarized the principles and gist in the respects of process selection and
equipment layout in the large / middle-sized synthetic ammonia plant．
