The different kinds of sampleswere treatedwith differentpreparationmethods. The obtained liquid sampleswere an- alyzed byHPLC using a iamonsilC18 column (250 mm 46 mm, 5 m). Acetonitrile-potas- sium dihydrogen phosphate (KH PO ) buffer solution (pH 6) wasused as themobilephase for 2 4 gradient elution. The 9 water-soluble colorantswerewellseparatedwithin 15 m in. The average recoveries (n = 9) were from 8533% to 1002% w ith the relative standard deviations (RS s) between 368% and 820%. The lmi its of detection (LO ) were in the range of 001- 01 mg/L. Themethod is simple, rapid, accurate and suitable for the determ ination of 9 water-so-l uble colorants in cosmetics. K ey words: high p
