The DIFC LCIA Arbitration Centre will be located at the DIFC in Dubai. The DIFC LCIA Arbitration Centre’s Arbitration and Mediation Rules are a close adaptation of the LCIA Rules. The LCIA Arbitration Rules are widely recognised and used worldwide and are frequently employed as a model for the rules of newly-established international arbitration centres (as was the case for both the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre), together with the ad hoc UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. The current basis of arbitration jurisdiction under the existing DIFC Arbitration Law (see below) remains very limited.
