Meth ods: Cal aneal QUS of 140 underground oal miners w ere measured by UBIS 3000 QUS and the on entra tions of urine deoxypyridinoline( DP D) were assayed by enzyme linked immunosorbent. The same methods were used to the surfa e oal miners. Results:T he values of al aneal BUA, SOS and ST I in the underground oal miners w ere signifi antly lower than t hose of the surfa e oal miners( P 001) . Urine DPD on entrations of underground oal miners w ere signifi antly lower than those of the surfa e oal miners( P 00 1) . Conclu sion:Underground oal miners suffered abnormality in bone metabolism be ause of la k of sunshine, hypox ia and tox i gas.
