灰色理论（Gray theory） The GM (1, 1) prediction model of grey theory is used to predict the amount of municipal solid waste generated in an industrial city. According to the development trend of the amount of garbage, it is proposed that the comprehensive treatment methods such as recycling, incineration and sanitary landfill can be adopted on the basis of classified collection, and the management and technical problems are discussed. Key words: grey theory; prediction of domestic waste; countermeasures; 1 Introduction; Chinas industrial cities on the management of domestic waste has been through the process of development for more than 30 years. Before 1970s, most municipal solid waste was sent to the suburbs and rural areas for fertilizer. Around 80s, domestic waste was directly treated by direct stacking and other methods, and the environmental pollution was serious. In 1990s, many industrial cities have put forward the goal of building an International Eco City, and the waste disposal has also been changed from the scattered pile up to the centralized landfill. At present, sanitary landfill is the most important method for waste treatment in industrial cities in China, accounting for more than 70% of the total processing capacity. Secondly, high temperature composting accounts for more than 20%, while incineration treatment is very little. In twenty-first Century, the traditional processing method in sanitary landfill mainly is a serious challenge: Chinas city waste an average growth rate of 8.98% a year, at the beginning of twenty-first Century, the total has reached 1.2 140 million T, depending on the single way of landfill is clearly unable to meet the increasing amount of processing.
