Specimen for Cold Recycled Plant-MixedAsphalt Pavements

Abstract: Combining lab experiment with sampling test by corebit in-situ, the compacting and
curing of M arshall specimen for cold recycled plant-mixed asphalt pa ements were studied. The
results showed that if the time inter al between tw o compacting operation w as 4hr, the stability
of M arshall specimen is close to the results of the sampling testing especially the lab experimental
of curing for long. If the specimen w as cured for 24hr in lab, the stability changes slightly and is
closer to the result of sampling test by corebit in-situ. T he proposed compacting/ curing method of
M arshall specimen conforms comparati ely to the actual formation process of cold recycled asphalt
pa ements and the M arshall specimen thus prepared can reflect the pa ement performance more
accurately in near future.
