Stiemer Abstract Design of Standard Type Buildings Using NBCC/IBC Analysis and design of type buildings for Canadian applications are based on specifications provided in NBCC – 2005 and Canadian Limit States Steel Standard CAN/CSA S16-01(R05), as discussed in the following. Using IBC – 2009 load calculations and load combinations are studied and compared against NBCC - 2005 values. Development of a formatted spreadsheet application based on NBCC - 2005 provides a rapid load calculating and combinations for type steel buildings. Results of some type buildings modeled in DrFrame software using NBCC 2005 are studied.
