mining area in M eishan Iron M ine, he ground cave- in area has become larg er and he underg round pressure more eviden ,
bringing unf avourable fac ors o he mine saf e produc ion . T herefore, he roof cav e- in law and he mechanism of overlay-
ing rockmass cave- in and displacemen w ere made by hree- dimensional f ini elemen me hod and he highes s ress con-
cen ra ed area w as calcula ed . Based on his, roof caving ime, loca ion and posi io n w ere de ermined so as o ensure he
saf e y in pr oduc ion .
