T he results show that, the first mode appears as the dipole oscillation type, the posit ive center is in the south and southwest of China, while the negat ive center is in the east of China. This mode appears in the peak period of cold anomalies of SST in t he equat orial eastern-central Pacific Ocean, corresponding to easterly wind anomalies in the low-latitude w estern Pacific Ocean, cyclonic circulation anomalies in the south of China and anticyclonic circulation anomalies in the north of China.
