摘要：
在1926年汕头市政厅制�并经广东省政府批准的“汕头市改造市区工务计划”的指导下，汕头快速
推进近代化进程，逐步形成了以环形放射状的路网格局�连续统一的骑楼�筑群为主要特征的�
市格局，是近代中国地方政府制�实施�市规划的一个成功例子。

Abstract: In the year of 1926, the renaissance planning of downtown area in Shantou City was
formulated by Shantou City Council and approved by Guangdong provincial government. Under
the guidance of the plan, Shantou has rapidly advanced the process of modernization trend,
gradually forming the urban pattern characterized with a ring radial road network patterns and
continuum of arcaded buildings groups. It is a successful example of urban planning that developed
and implemented by local government in the modern times of China.
