Abstract Objective: To discuss and analyze the improved coordinate methods and experience of microvascular decompression. Methods: A total of 845 patients who underwent microvacular decompresion surgery for Hemifacial spasm or Trigeminal Neuralgia from January 2008 to January 2014, at our department, were studied. All patients of this study were divided into two groups: control group (353 cases): patients head were fixed on head frame, while contralateral upper extremity were fixed in the gap of head frame by brace, and improved group (792cases): patients head placed in soft pillow without using head frame. To compare the comfort and satisfaction level of patients after operation of the two different group, and do statistical analysis. Results: Postoperative headache and numbness caused by different surgical position were analyzed. The incidence rate of the improved group was less than the control group. There was significant difference between these two cohorts (P0.05). Moreover, patient’s satisfaction rate and postoperative complications, intraoperative surgical exposure time and surgical convergence time were summarized.
