Considering the influence of the plate cylinder radius changes on the overprint precision, the transverse overprint error formulas of the grating image were deduced. And the printing-down process that the striation orientation of the grating image and the platen spindle direction should be vertical with each other was brought forward. The influence of the general dot and columnar dot on the grating image print quality was analyzed It is summed up that the columnar dot would be propitious to enhance image quality, but . it has a higher request to overprint precision.
