The Centr al H osp ital o Y iw u , Yiw u 322000, Zhej iang , Ch ina ABSTRACT Objective: To study the methods and thera eutic effects of surgical treatment for sacral fracture.Methods: Thirtysix atients wit h sacral fracture were reviewed in the study. According to Denis classification of sacral fracture, there w ere 15 atients of Ty e ∀ , 16 of T y e # and 5 of T y e ∃.Among 15 atients of Ty e ∀ , 2 atients w ere accom anied w ith nerve root injuries at L or L , and 1 atient w ith nerve 4 5 root injuries at L4, 5.Among 16 at ients of Ty e #, 12 atients were accom anied w ith nerve root injuries at S1, 2 .Within 5 atines of Ty e ∃, 3 atients w ere accom anied w ith nerve root injuries at S1, 2 of single side, and 2 atients w ith S1, 2 of double sides as w ell as cauda equina nerve injuries. Fifteen atients of Ty e ∀ were t reated w ith conservative met hods.Among 21 atients of Ty e # and ∃ who were treated with o eration, 8 atients w ithout nerve injuries or wit h slight injuries were treated w ith internal fixation, and other 13 atients w ith severe nerve injuries were treated with internal fixation combined w ith endoneurolysis.
