Research on Optimization of Catenary System Maintenance
Schedule for High-speed Railways

Abstract: T he dynamic reliability model and maintenance cost model of the catenary system along high-speed
railw ay lines have been established at first in this paper, w here all the maintenance operations have been catego-
rized into three types and different types of maintenance operations lead to different reliabilities and costs. The
optimization of the maintenance schedule is to achieve the maximum reliability of the catenary system and the
minimum maintenance cost at the same time. To solve this typical mult-i objective optimization problem, an ad-
vanced Choas Self- adaptive Evolutionary A lgorithm, called CSEA, has been proposed in this paper. The chaot-
ic initial population helps to improve the initial diversity. T he grouping selection strategy has been suggested to
give the dominated solutions more chance to enter the mate pool, and a self-adaptive genetic operator is adopted
to give the dominated solutions higher possibility to cross and variation. All of the above help to avoid prematu-
