情态动词常见考点归纳 1．can 1) 表示可能性“有时候可能会” e.g It could/ can be better to stay here. 2) 表示说话人的推测、怀疑、惊异、猜测或不肯定等，主要用于否定句、疑问句或感叹句中。 e.g Can this be true? Who can it be? This can’t be done by him. 2．need “需要，必须” 可作为情态动词和实意动词 1）need 做情态动词无词形的变化， 通常用于否定句和疑问句中。 回答用need提问的问句与must 提问的问句一样， 肯定回答用must(口语也可用have to), 否定回答用needn’t 或don’t have to . Need / must I get at once? Yes, you must. / No, you needn’t 2）实意动词need, 比较need to do 与need doing need to do不定式的逻辑主语就是主句的主语 need doing 用动词的主动语态表示被动意义， 即need 前的主语为doing 所表示的动作的承受者 e.g We need to have a rest. My bike needs to be repaired / repairing . The garden needs to be watered / watering ( 注意: want, require作“需要”时，后接doing 的用法与need相同) 3．Will 的用法 1)．will 可表示主观意志、意愿，可用于各种人称 Do what you will. 2) 表示经常性、习惯性、倾向性等， 意为“经常，惯于, 总是” Mary will read for hours at a time. 表示过去的“经常，惯于, 总是”用would He would sit near the fire for hours on winter eventings. 3) would 表示意愿的常用词组 would like + n would like + to do sth = would love to would rather …… than ( = prefer + n/ doing……to + n/ doing….. = prefer to do ……rather than do….). 4．情态动词表示特定的语气和态度 can 表示怀疑、惊异、猜测或不肯定（主要用于否定句、疑问句或感叹句中。） may 可以用于祈使句，表示祝愿（May you have a good time!） should 表示惊异、赞叹、不满的情绪 must 表示偏要、硬要做某事 shall 用于第二 、三人称，表示允许、命令、警告等语气 5．情态动词的一些惯用法 1）cannot ……too/ enough 表示“无论怎么…… 也不过分”，“越……越好” You cannot be too careful. 你越小心越好 You cannot remember enough English words. 2) cannot but + do sth = cannot help but do “不得不， 只好” I cannot but admire your bravery. I could not but leave here. 3) may well , may as well may well + do =to be likely to “完全能，很可能” He may well be proud of his son. may as well + do = had better “最好， 倒不如” You may as well stay here over the night, You may as well do it at once./ tell me the truth.
