Abstract: high speed railway provides 2.5 cm/ km for Length Projection deformation (1 / 40000) of the control requirement, Gauss conformal projection plane rectangular coordinate system has long been used in the 3O zone, has been difficult to meet the accuracy requirements of railway construction. This paper analyzes the problem of projective deformation, expounds the design principle of arbitrary coordinate system with compensating height surface, and introduces the design method of the formal coordinate system in combination with an example of a railway passenger dedicated line. With any coordinate system of compensating elevation surface, the limitation of 3O coordinate system is overcome, and the compensation of two kinds of length deformation can be realized effectively, so as to control the projective deformation.

The railway engineering construction in China, has long been a unified 3O with Gauss conformal projection plane rectangular coordinate system (hereinafter referred to as the 3O coordinates) as the railway engineering construction coordinate system. With the main technical standards of railway construction in China and a significant increase in surveying technology change, 3O coordinate system is difficult to meet the need of railway construction, especially the high-speed railway (including 200 km/ h, the passenger dedicated line) for Length Projection deformation presents 2.5 cm/ km (1 / 40000) of the control requirements. Therefore, in the feasibility study stage of the high speed railway, according to the features of the project, the design of the selected construction coordinate system reasonably, effectively control the deformation of projection on the impact of construction projects, is an important prerequisite to ensure the smooth implementation of the
