柴油机曲轴的疲劳强度评定(Fatigue strength evaluation of diesel engine crankshaft) Fatigue strength evaluation of diesel engine crankshaft Wang Min1 Abstract: security has important significance on the protection of marine diesel engine crankshaft strength, this paper first introduces the diesel engine crankshaft fatigue strength evaluation method, calculation method of cyclic bending moment, alternating compressive stress and gives the diesel engine power. This paper discusses the rationality of the IACS M53 calculation method, points out the common errors in the strength assessment and gives some suggestions for improvement. Some opinions in this paper have been adopted by classification society and used for actual strength check of crankshaft. Key words: crankshaft strength evaluation, fatigue strength, IACS, M53 Preface The crankshaft is the most important component that affects the reliability of marine diesel engine. The reliability of diesel engine depends on the reliability of crankshaft to a great extent. Since the crankshaft can not be designed with redundancy, it has to improve its reliability. Therefore, the International Classification Society (IACS) has formulated the unified requirements for crankshaft strength checking (IACS, UR, M53). When the crankshaft is working, it takes the gas force in the cylinder, reciprocating and rotating, mass inertia force, torsion force and so on. The radial force exerted on the shaft of the connecting rod causes the crankshaft to bend, the tangential force causes the crankshaft to bear the torque, and the torsional vibration, the longitudinal vibration and the shape of the crankshaft caused by the crankshaft affect the strength of the crankshaft. The tangential force and radial force of the crankshaft are varied with time, and the stresses around the crankshaft also vary periodically. The actual analysis of the crankshaft fracture proves that most of the broken axle accidents are fatigue failure, so UR M53 adopts the fatigue streng
