( Comparison of ESWAN performances with different parameters of paramagnetic material at 3T Ledu Xiaolan, Lv Fajin, Chen Li, Yao Kaiqing, Li Jianqiu （Department of Radiology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing 400016, China） [Abstract] Objective To study the influences of the ESWAN sequence parameter settings on the characteristics of imaging and the sensitivity of paramagnetic ion with experimental methods in vitro. Methods To establish a model of paramagnetic material, to change the numbers of echo time, flip angle (FA), bandwidth (BW), field of view (FOV) on the ESWAN sequence and repeat scanning. The signal changes were observed and the phase values of the interesting area in different positions at all images were measured. The relationship between the ESWAN imaging and the different parameters was analyzed. Results The ESWAN signal of Fe2+ was slightly high, the phase value ??increased with the concentration when it was low, while the phase value ??decreased with the increased artifacts. The phase value’s changes were lack of specificity with different numbers of echo time, flip angle, bandwidth, and field of view. The contrast to noise ratio (CNR) was greater when the numbers of echo time were smaller since the concentration was increased(P0.05), the CNR difference between different flip angles was not statistically significant (P0.05), the CNR value was greater when bandwidth was wider (P0.05), the CNR difference between different FOVs was not statistically significant (P0.05). [Conclusion] The CNR was different with choosing different parameters according to different concentrations. The ESWAN features vary with different parameters. Reasonable parameter settings play an important role in showing paramagnetic substances with ESWAN sensitively and effectively.
