Abstract: the essence of difference teaching, namely in the class teaching, effective use and care of the differences of students, in the teaching guiding ideology, objectives, contents, methods, strategies and evaluation process of full implementation of difference teaching, promote students full development on the basis of the original. Clarifying the relationship between difference teaching and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, individual teaching and hierarchical teaching is of practical significance for the implementation of differential teaching.

With the deepening of curriculum reform, adapting to the students individual differences, satisfying the needs of students learning, and promoting the differential teaching of each student on the basis of the original, it has become a new growth point of curriculum reform. Teaching students in accordance with their aptitude has always been the goal of school education, and it is also an inevitable trend of the development of school education. Whether people accept or reject, adapt to students individual differences, meet the needs of students learning differences, teaching will come to the forefront of curriculum reform.
From the historical traces, we can find that the idea of difference teaching is scattered in all kinds of teaching theories and curriculum theories and their practice.
