T he key element s of the UV det ection technology were overviewed and the design parameters for the cat adiopt ric omnidirectional imaging syst em in Solar Blind UV SBUV) were det ermined. Based on the aberration theory and characters of UV optical system, the processes of opt ical design including t he allocation of parame t ers, solution of init ial st ructure and t he lens split ting were present ed. T he design results show t hat the diam et er of 80% encicled energy of SBUV panoramic imaging syst em is 20 m, which is smaller t han the pixel size of ICCD, and the MT F value of t
