[Abstract] Objective To evaluate the response of interferon to the mutation region of HBV C region. Methods 104 cases of chronic hepatitis B patients, application of clone and rapid detection of HBV pre C termination codon mutation method, 21 cases were detected with mutant, 16 of them were treated with interferon; wild strain 21/ 25 were treated with interferon. Results there were 16 cases of HBV mutation in the anterior C region, 6 cases of interferon treatment, 21 cases of wild plants, 9 cases of interferon response, and there was no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion HBV, C mutation and wild strain have partial response to interferon, and the response rates are 37.5% and 42.9% respectively. There is no significant difference between the two groups.

[Abstract] Objective The study was to evaluate the response to interferon in chronic hepatitis B patients with HBV pre-C mutants.Methods Sequence analysis was made in HBV DNA positive patients by cloning their amplified products to M13 MP18 or, PBS and, rapid detection of the stop codon of HBV pre-C mutants in chronic hepatitis B patients was 104 coincidently taken. Response to interferon was observed both in the with pre-C mutants 16 cases and 21 cases with wild type.Results HBV pre-C mutants were detected in 21/ 104 cases, 6/ 16 cases of which response to interferon therapy.
