Methods : 20 normal subjects, 13 cases w it at lantoaxial dislocat ion ( ) 2 - AAD and cases w it ratatary at lantoaxial subdislocat on w ere exammated wit rutine CT and X ray film and 5 subjucts w it functional CT scan in addition. Results : 15 cases w it AAD and ratatary atlantoaxial subdislocat on are all found by X- ray , and by CT but one case. Besides t e at lantoaxial dislocation, multiple and complex frac- tures and deformity bony spinal canal could be properly foumd w it CT . Conclusion:X- ray film and CT w ere all . , - good met ods in finding at lantoaxial lesions How ever it was difficult for X ray film t o find out complex fracture and t e c anges of t e bony spinal canal. Odont oid fracture could not be s own wit CT if w it out atlantoaxial dis- location.
