Through analyzing vertical disp lacem ent of the v au lt, hor izonta l displacem ent o f the m iddle po int o f side- w al,l plastic zone of surround ing ro ck and stresses o f prelmi inary lin ing, the result show s tha t sea ling the prmi ary shor ing qu ick ly is favorable to contro l the stresses and d isplacem ents of the tunne.l So in con struc tion pro cess the d istance betw een ad jacen t ex cavation faces should be sho rtened and the speed o f closure should be stepp ed up to achiev e stability of the tun- nel.
