Since the seismic fortification was enhanced ，the existing buildings need to be strengthened to improve seismic performance . Wing-wall strengthening has been well concerned for its convenient layout and good bearing capacity ，but it is unclear how this method would be effective . In this paper ，the seismic performance of a typical school building strengthened by wing-walls is analyzed ，and the strengthening effect under various sizes and types of wing-wall is discussed in details.
