Methods Certification and Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) organized this proficiency tests (PT) for detecting mercury in cosmetic. About 127 laboratories from 31 provinces/cities/municipals took part in the PT. In this study, the implementa- tion process of the PT was described, including project design, sample preparation and test, the statistical re- sults and technical analysis. Results According to double testing, there were 94.5% laboratories showing sa- tisfactory results. Conclusion Most laboratories taking part in the PT had good competence in analyzing heavy metal element mercury in cosmetics. KEY WORDS: cosmetics; heavy metal; mercury; proficiency test (PT) ; 1 引 言
