2 00 5年第 5期 外 语 与 外 语 教 学 2005, №5 总 第 194 期 Foreign L anguage s and Their Teach ing Serial №194 图式分析隐喻翻译中的认知过程 张美芳 (中山大学 ,广东广州 　510275; 澳门大学 ) 　　摘 　要 :翻译的过程非常复杂 。罗杰 ·贝尔尝试用图形模式来描述翻译的过程 。他以系统功能语言模式为理论基础 , 探讨 “意义 ”如何被认知又如何被转换 ,新信息如何与旧信息组合成一个全新的目标语译文 。本文尝试运用贝尔的认知图 ( ) 式来分析两则隐喻的翻译过程 ,从中探讨在此过程中译者如何利用自己的经验去理解原文中的概念代码 即解码 ,又如何 ( ) 根据译语文化和语境进行概念代码的转换 即编码 ,从而生产出一个能在 目标语文化中与原文功能相似的译文 。 关键词 :翻译过程 ;认知 ; 图形模式 　　A b stract: The p rocess of tran slation is a p rob lem of great comp lexity. Roger T. B ell ha s schem atized the p rocess of tran slating, setting it p articu larly w ith in a system ic model of language, and trying to exp lore how “m ean ing ”is conveyed and how new inform a tion is p roce ssed in relation w ith o ld inform ation. The p resen t p ap er attemp ts to app ly B ell’s schem atic model to analyzing two m eta phor tran slation s so a s to inve stigate the tran slator ’s cogn itive p rocess. Sp ecial attention w ill be p aid to the p roce ss of how the tran s lator decode s the original text and retrieves m essage s from it, and how he encode s the m e ssages into a more or le ss functionally equ ivalen t target text.
