Methods 164 patients with major depression were divided into 71 groups, 93 cases in male group and female group in two. Using semi-structured inspection method, in strict accordance with the genetics research diagnostic check the contents of the questionnaire to inquire into the group of patients with clinical symptoms, the application of Defense Style Questionnaire, Hamilton Depression Scale, self rating Depression Scale were assessed. Results the HAMD scores of men and women with the total score and factor scores had no significant difference (P 0.05), but women wake up early, somatic anxiety, gastrointestinal symptom score was higher than that of males. Self rating Depression Scale score of female patients was significantly higher than that of men cry factor, anxiety, weight loss factor was significantly lower than that of the male (P 0.01), the total score and other factors had no significant difference (P 0.05).
