State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute, Changping District, Beijing 102209, China) ABSTRACT: VSC-HVDC transmission technology is an important means to constitute the backbone network of global energy interconnection and realize the integration of clean energy. There are many advantages of VSC-HVDC technology, such as supplying power to an isolated island, improving the low voltage ride through capability of wind power, controlling the output power flexibly, etc. The research, development and engineering achievements of ±320 kV/1 000 MW valve, valve base control equipment and control and protection system are introduced. The valve electrical design, optimization design of valve key components and parts, and the valve structural design and test technology are summarized and analyzed.
