Abstract: This paper introduces English writing self motivation and teaching design principle, discusses the feasibility and importance of the implementation of English writing self-assessment in English teaching, and points out that if implemented properly, English writing self-assessment can be an effective new teaching mode, to promote the continuous improvement of the level of students writing.

Abstract: This paper explores the feasibility and significance of conducting self-assessment of English writing skills in English teaching through a brief introduction to the theoretical background and teaching principles of self-assessment of writing ability. It has been pointed out that self-assessment of writing skills if carried, out properly, can be an effective mode of teaching and helps promote the studentswriting ability.

I. Introduction
Test and assessment is an important part of English teaching. Traditional tests are conducted in the form of examinations. From the students point of view, this kind of test is centered on the teacher or examiner, and it is a kind of external activity. In recent years, with the widespread development of students - centered teaching mode , the international linguistic circles advocate the student center theory, advocates the teachers role is a learning guide, agitator, facilitator and coaching, and should not be China traditional education
