Methods 200 cases of chest trauma with systemic multiple injuries diagnosis and treatment were retrospectively analyzed. 190 cases were cured; 10 died. died within 24h after injury, hemorrhagic, traumatic shock, multiple organ failure in 8 cases; died of other complications in 2 cases. Conclusion chest trauma with systemic clinical features of multiple injuries to high mortality, incidence of shock, early easily missed, early chest CT examination can confirm the diagnosis, early treatment of chest injuries outside the rational use of breathing machine can significantly reduce mortality in ARDS. [Keywords] chest trauma; multiple trauma; diagnosis; treatment Abstract: Objective To discuss the clinical characteristics and treatment of thoracic wounds with general multiple injuries.Methods A total of 200 patients with thoracic wounds and multiple injuries from the year of 2000 to 2007 in our hospital were reviewed retrospectively.Results Among the 200 patients, 190 were cured and 10 died. Of those who died, 8 died of hemorrhagic shock or traumatic shock and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) in 24 hours after trauma, and 2 died of other complications. Conclusion The death and shock rate of thoracic wounds with multiple traumas is high. The key to improve the prognosis is to do Chest CT and treat multiple traumas early. To use ventilator in time can decrease the death of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
