Abstract: for the determination of total sugar content of polysaccharide, Poria extract, using phenol sulfuric acid method, prepared sugar aldehyde derivatives colored, using spectrophotometry to determine the absorbance at the wavelength of 490 nm, the regression equation was A=-0.128+0.109 8X, gamma =0.999 0, a good linear relationship between the recovery experiment; the average recovery rate was 99.5%. N=5. The method is simple, stable, quick and reproducible.

Fuling Chinese medicine for the treatment of edema Niaoshao, spleen eat less, nervousness, insomnia and other symptoms, with spleen and heart, dampness and other effects. In order to determine the content of total sugar and polysaccharide in Poria cocos, the aldose derivative was prepared by phenol sulfuric acid method. The content of Poria cocos polysaccharide was determined by spectrophotometry.
