Abstract : Compaction degree is an important indicator for measuring the earth rock foundations quality. In long term
project practices, many test methods are formed, such as the sand replacement method and wave method and so on.
However, they all have serious problems on their reliability and representativeness. So the advanced theory of reliability
is combined with the compaction degree to establish a dual index system according to the analysis of variability of the
roadbed, so as to realize the effectiveness and reliability for measuring the foundations quality.
