Abstract The sources of ionizing radiation and their infection factor, e posure dose and possible effects on the
general public and environment are reviewed. Natural radiation e posure is discussed in detail especially, while other
man-made environmental radiation and medical radiation e posure are also assessed. Letting the public be aware of
and understand radiation phenomena in a proper light is the purpose of this paper.
