This paper discusses about the digital divide and the focus points in closing the prevailing gap in the society, this is especially witnessed in developing countries. There are so many different opinions about the question why this digital divide happen I tried to explain this in the paper. While I discuss the digital divide it is I tried to discuss its economic association because digital divide is mostly the question of economic background. With the understanding the above I discuss the existing Ethiopian economic situations, about the telecommunication service of Ethiopia, the thought of why digital divide happen, ICT policy and the focus sectors of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to be applied. In the conclusions and recommendations there are some directives on how to bridge the existing gap in making available the telecommunications infrastructures.
