Some t pical mathematical models of grinding ceramics in the ductile regime established on the basis of indentation fracture me- chanics are presented. The grinding mechanism of ultrasonic grinding in the ductile regime is discussed in t heor . The critical condition of ult rasonic grinding in t he ductile regime is educed. The blade surface of ZrO ceramics was ground w ith a five-ax is 2 numerical control ultrasonic grinding machine developed independentl . T he prospect of ultrasonic grinding ceramics in the duc- t ile regime is provided.
