To sum up 59 cases of lung cancer deaths in our hospital during the past 1990~1997 years. Analysis of the direct cause of death, and found that lung infection has a significant impact on the survival of lung cancer. 1 clinical information There were 1.1 males and 14 females. The ratio of male to female was 3.5 to 1, aged 30~82 years, and the median age was 62 years old (45 years). Clinical stage: according to the staging criteria, there were 0 cases in stage I and 4 cases in stage II. 3 cases complicated with pulmonary infection. 18 cases in stage III, 11 cases complicated with pulmonary infection, 37 cases in stage IV, 17 cases complicated with pulmonary infection. All cases were diagnosed by biopsy, pathology or cytology. 1.2 diagnosis of lung infection: fever, cough or expectoration. The auscultation of the lungs wet and sound. Blood count, WBC count and neutrophil increase. X-ray examination of lungs showed patchy or obstructive pneumonia. There were 9 cases of gram-positive cocci in sputum culture, 6 cases of gram-negative bacilli, 8 cases of mixed infection of 5 kinds of bacteria, 3 cases of negative. The cause of direct death in 1.359 patients is shown in table 1.
