William Blake (1757?–1827) was an English poet, painter, and printmaker. He is considered to be a forerunner of the Romantic poetry of the 19th century, showing a contempt for the rule of reason, opposing the classical tradition of the 18th century, and treasuring the individual’s imagination. The Lamb is a poem by William Blake, published in Songs of Innocence in 1789. Like many of Blakes works, the poem is about Christianity.
