2010-2011年度下学期英汉口译教案授课人:李明海Lecture 1Teaching Aims: 1.get the students to know about interpretation.2.Teach them how to take notes.Teaching Procedures Step 1 Warming-up exercises. Mandarin dialect transferring, Chinese and English interpretation between partners.Talk about thinking mode.Step 3. interpretation knowledge and skills a. What is an interpreter? Immediate oral translation . language barriers , other barriers like different bodies of knowledge, different education ,different intellectual approaches .The interpreter must make the audience understand the real meaning. Interpreters must bridge the culture and conceptual gaps separating the participants in a meeting. b. what is Conference interpreting ? provide an exact and faithful reproduction of the original speech.Becomes the delegate they are interpreting , using the first person The male interpreter must be able to say “speaking as a woman who has gone through four pregnancies ..’in a perfectly natural and convincing manner c. consecutive interpretation and simultaneous interpretation work in real time , fast and efficient under stress .d.the context of the conference interpreters’ work , different context and a vast range of subjects .private company,trade unions, ministries, political parties, scientific and academic seminars. Bilingual meetings, multilingual meetings . general in content and technique in content.
