Abstract There are different kinds of colors. Color is closely related to people’s life. Differences exist in the use of colors and color words between Chinese and English cultures. Different cultures bring different attitudes toward the same color because of different language habits, historical backgrounds, and traditional customs and so on. In different nationality, peoples impressions and expressions of colors are different, and the associative meanings produced by colors have nothing in common with each other. All about this is linked with culture connotation. Although the meanings of color words are restrained by cultures, they reveal wide connotation of cultures.
