Methods: 50 cases of normal adults (25 cases of male and female pelvic) axial spiral CT scanning, observe the morphological characteristics, measuring the thickness of different planes, analysis of the relationship between the mesorectum thickness and body mass index and pelvis size. Results the mesorectal displayed clearly on the spiral CT, the shape of the upper and middle mesorectal was similar, and the lower and posterolateral were obviously thinner. The anterior thickness of mesorectal was (2.3 + 1.2) mm, the lateral thickness was (13.5 + 4) mm, and the posterior thickness was (7.3 + 3.5) mm, and the difference between the three groups was significant (f=260.09, q=4.969 to 11.156, P 0.01). The thickness of the upper and middle planes was lower than that of the lower plane (f=177.243, q=4.352, 4.311, P 0.01). The thickness of the lower plane, lateral and posterior mass of the male is thinner than that of the female (t=2.095, 2.979, p 0.05). There is a linear positive correlation values of the thickness of the lateral and posterior body mass index (r=0.940, 0.864, p 0.01), and the size of the pelvis (pelvic transverse diameter, anteroposterior diameter) there is a positive linear correlation (r=0.766, 0.655, p 0.01). Conclusion CT has special morphological features of spiral CT, which can provide the basis for preoperative imaging staging of rectal carcinoma.
