汽油发动机工作原理（The working principle of a gasoline engine） The working principle of a gasoline engine Lets take a single cylinder gasoline engine as an example to explain how the gasoline engine works. The piston is arranged in the cylinder, and the piston is connected with the crankshaft through a piston pin and a connecting rod. The piston moves in and out of the cylinder and pushes the crankshaft through the connecting rod. An inlet valve and an exhaust valve are provided for inhalation of fresh gas and exhaust gas. The piston is located farthest from the center of the crankshaft, the top of the piston, called the tdc. The top of the piston is closest to the center of the crankshaft, the lowest point of the piston, called the lower dead center. The distance between the upper and lower dead ends is called the piston stroke. The distance between the crankshaft and the connecting center at the lower end of the connecting rod to the center of the crankshaft is called the radius of the crankshaft. Each stroke of the piston corresponds to a crank angle of 180 degrees. For the engine with the centerline of the cylinder passing through the crankshaft centerline, the piston stroke is equal to two times the crank radius. The volume that the piston sweeps from the TDC to the TDC is known as the volume of the engine or the displacement of the engine. It is indicated by the symbol VL. The cycle of the four stroke engine consists of four piston strokes, both intake stroke, compression stroke, expansion stroke (work stroke) and exhaust stroke. Intake stroke The carburetor gasoline engine mixes the air with the fuel first in the carburetor outside the cylinder and then into the cylinder. In the intake stroke, the intake valve opens and the exhaust valve closes. As the piston moves from the TDC to the TDC, the volume of the cylinder above the piston increases, so that the pressure in the cylinder decreases below the atmospheric pressure, which creates a vacuum suction in the cylinder.
