The selection of Tongren to Jishou railway speed target value is conducted based on comprehensive analysis of three different speed target values in terms of passenger flow characteristics ， coordination with relevant networks， transport organization， time target value demand， project investment and investment income . The running speed of different speed target values of the whole line are calculated and analyzed with traction simulation according to the features of the project . The study results suggest 250 km/h of the target value of speed for Tongren to Jishou railway .
