Methods:T he names, denomination , quantities and Eng lish translatio n o Chinese ma nipulation nomenclature in the representative Chinese orthopaedic boo ks, j ournals, dictionaries and databanks w ere detected manually or w ith the help o computer and the results w ere analyzed . Results:T otally 22 8 tech niques w ere detected , o them , 36 techniques w ere most requently used and 40 techniques w er e o English t ranslation . Based on the comparativ e analysis on the names, per ormance and Eng lish tr anslation o domestic and oreign manipulations in the previous studies, the tr anslation pr inciples and methods o Chinese manipula tion nomenclature w ere sugg ested and 30 basic techniques w ere translated according ly. Conclusion:T he tech niques and academic schools o Chinese manipulative therapy have greatly incr eased r ecently and their English t ranslation is short o and disorder ed .
