教材分析
本课是北师大版《初中英语》七年级下册教材第4单元的第11课,本单元的话题为季节和天气。主要学习季节、天气情况、天气预报、旅行等内容,学习和巩固一般将来时。
本课的教学设计分为两个课时。第一课时侧重对天气情况和天气预报的理解,引导学生通过听读活动,提取天气情况主要信息和细节信息,正确使用关于天气词汇的名词和形容词形式,能够谈论天气情况,了解世界各地的气候和天气特点,最后结合天气预报进行语言输出性活动。
学生情况分析
学生英语层次不均衡,但学生的学习兴趣很高,能在教师的引领下完成学习任务,有很强的学好英语的欲望。
教学内容
话题:Weather Around the World
词汇:around, tomorrow, cloud, sightseeing, beach, visitor, tourist
技能:听中提取细节信息教学目标
在本课学习结束时,学生能够:
1. 辨认并准确说出本课所学新词汇;
2. 通过听获取天气预报内容的细节信息;
3. 通过阅读,在情境和上下文中体会天气词汇的名词形式和形容词形式的语用功能。
4. 根据获取的信息和语言,描述世界各地的天气情况。
教学过程
Step 1
1. T shows a map of the world with symbols of weather on it.
设计意图:导入本课话题,激发学生兴趣。
2. Use word spider to review the words about weather.
设计意图:了解学生已有知识,激活学生已有的天气词汇。
3. T shows the nouns of the weather, direct Ss to the Word Builder, ask Ss to write the adj. forms of the words.
设计意图:辨认和识记天气词汇的名词和形容词形式。
4. Practice to ask and answer:
What’s the weather like today?

What’s the weather like in…?
It’s…
设计意图:句型操练。
Step 2
1.T shows the picture of the weatherman, ask Ss to look at the picture and answer:
Who is he?
What’s his job?
Ask Ss to listen to the weather report and answer:
How many cities does he talk about?

3. Ask Ss to listen the second time and complete the form of weather conditions.
4. Ask Ss to listen the third time and complete the weatherman’

Step3
1.Read and complete the weather
report according to the context.
2. Ask Ss to read the text quickly and find the answers for the questions.
3 .Ask Ss to listen and repeat, then find the questions in the weather report.
4. T discusses with Ss about the understanding of the difficult sentence: It won’t be a good day to go sightseeing.
5.Practice the drills:

6. Divide 4 Ss in a group and describe the weather of the cities.
