As one of the most significant parts in canned motor reactor coolant pump, the safety and stability of the stator can means a lot to the normal operation of reactor coolant pump. There are few academic achievements on canned motor pump published, due to its special application field. Based on the thin walled cylindrical shell stability theory and the finite element theory for the buckling stability problem, this paper does following studies focus on the buckling stability of the stator can ： First, the stator can is easy to appear the deformation when the outside pressure is greater than the inside pressure, and it will happen buckling instability when the deformation is more than a certain extent.
