Have you ever tried to care for a plant? With a partner, share your good or bad experiences in looking after plants. What could you do to be a more successful gardener? Language Points (1) consider作动词，意为“考虑；思考”， 后面常接名词、代词或V-ing形式。?其次，consider后还可以接从句或“疑问词+不定式”。如： You must consider many things when you decide to begin gardening. 你必须考虑很多事情当你决定开始从事园艺业。 I’m considering going abroad some day. 我一直考虑有一天出国。 (2) decide作动词，意为“决定；决心”，常用短语decide to do sth.意为“决心做某事”，相当于make up one’s mind to do sth.。decide后面也常用“疑问词＋to do sth.”作宾语。名词形式是decision，常用短语make decisions to do sth，意为“下决心做某事”。如： She’s decided to work hard.她已经决定要努力学习。 a. keep+名词/代词+形容词，表示“使某人或某物保持某种状态”。如： 2. You need to keep water nearby. 你需要尽可能的保存水。 Keep the door open. 请让门开着。 b. keep + sb. / sth.+介词短语，表示 “使……某人处于位置”。如： The children keep their hands behind their backs. 孩子们一直把手放在身后。 c. keep sb./sth. +动词-ing形式，表示“让某人或某物（长时间地）进行着某个动作”。如： Don’t keep your car running too fast. 不要让你的车一直跑得太快。 3. It can keep these small animals away from your garden. 它可以让这些小动物远离你的花园。 keep away from意为“(使)不接近；远离；避开”，和stay away from意思是一样的，但用法不一样。常用结构是keep sb. away from sth.，另外一个是stay away from sth.。如： You’d better stay away from the big dog. = You’d better keep yourself from the big dog. 你最好离那只狗远一点。 Exercises *
