It was two years and two months that he lived there. Living near the lake, Thoreau experienced a new lifestyle: being close to nature，explore nature and being harmony with nature. During that time, he began to create the famous book Walden. Just like Walden Pond, his writing is also sagacity and beautiful. Walden emphasizes the importance of self-reliance，solitude, contemplation，and closeness to nature in transcending the crass existence that is supposedly the lot of most humans. Walden is not merely a record about Thoreau’s life in the woods; its value exists because Thoreau thinks deeply about man’s relation to nature, and the necessity for man’s individual development. The purpose of analyzing the factors of Walden’s origin is that we can have a good knowledge of it. It is difficulty for many people to comprehend the masterwork especially the foreign books.
