CAMPUS PLANNING AND DESIGN ABSTRACT/ This paper starts its discussion with the question of typology raised by two photographs of the New Library of University of Aberdeen. Through a close- reading of the relationship between the Library and the city, the activities it intends to generate and encourage, and the ideas behind them, this paper tries to think a new possibility brought about by urban consideration and reclassification of library as a learning institution of a city in contemporary architectural practice and thinking.
