Summary :This article reviews the advances in diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases during the past
30 years in China ，highlighting the acid-related diseases ，Helicobacter pylori (Hp)and Hp-related diseases ，func-
tional gastrointestinal disease ，intestinal diseases ，pancreatic diseases ，inflammatory bowel disease ，gastrointestinal
cancers ，digestive endoscopy and related basic research． We illustrate the enormous innovations in these fields and
their contribution to the healthcare in China．
