Advancement of Protein Subcellular Localization in Plants

Abstract: Cell is the f ndamental nit of living organism, proteins with different f nctions distrib ted in cell lar
compartments, incl ding plasmolemma, n cle s, cytoplasm and organelles like mitochondria, chloroplast, Golgi, and
endoplasmic retic l m etc. Protein s bcell lar localization is one of the key q estions for f nctional genomics. The tech
niq es sed for s bcell lar localization of plants protein incl de f sion reporter gene localization, imm nohistochemical
localization, 2D combinedwith mass spectrometry, marker enzyme_assisted localization and bioinformatics prediction. The
development and application of high_thro ghtp t protein s bcell lar localization technology stim lated the establishment of
protein s bcell lar localization database. In model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, the n mber of proteins with localization
data is over 4000.
